Happy Halloween! Back in 2015 I joined Beecave Games here in Austin, TX. We made virtual casino games and put together a collection of 8 slots with iconic Halloween monsters. Greg Allen, our audio director, had the idea to make a musical. The music would be interactive and grow more elaborate as you racked in the points. The highest level had vocals. The collection of slots also had a story tha...

Great music!!
Thank you very much!!!
How beraxus feel when throw big rock at shadow tree.
Beraxus Real!?
They should make magi quest one of those interactive movies that they have on Netflix
Hi Dude! It's amazing. Good initiative.
Im a legacy fan but theres just something so enchanting about this songg
I'm really glad you like it! Thanks for your kind words!
Just make it a videogame at this point
Kinda supirsed they haven't made a roblox game ATP
@@Minecrayey Or just get someone to make a full blown standalone videogame. They’ve got heaps of worldbuilding and story/gameplay potential but arent very well known to the masses. Making a game could get them tons of publicity while also, obviously, just being an awesome idea.
Great work Nathan! Creative and on target!
Really appreciate the kind words, Chance! It means a great deal coming from you. I hope you're doing well!
👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥 very cool
Cool!
Sick Art!!!!🔥🦾
Even to this day I miss this game...
I have not gotten to play the game, but I am upset I just now found out about the song and just how great it is. You did an outstanding job with it.
I'm so glad you like it!! It was really fun to work on. :)
The Boy and- *The H-H-Heron*
Wait you had this uploaded too?? You're the GOAT
Hi Nate...where are you starting in this video? And is this the starting point for the migrations that we need to do? Sorry, a little lost.
Got a new video up for ya! It should make more sense and be easier to follow!
me being a fan of Magiquest i was so happy to hear this it was so good that it motivated to complete it in 1 day because we were staying for 3 and i completed it
Nice to see you again. Do you think you could also upload the version of these tracks with the reels spinning? And how about the bonus games?
thank you!
your shirt is more than meets the eyes.
Hahahaha, just don't tell Megatron.
I recently played SkateBird on my Channel and I loved nearly everything about it! Especially the OST you worked on! Thank you for making a superb soundtrack for a radical game!
Wow! Thank you very much! SkateBIRD was so much fun to work on and it really has made an impact on my life! Hearing that other folks appreciate and like my work makes all the effort and time invested more than worth it!
Nice. The soundtrack for this game somehow always seems to impress me. I would honestly enjoy a song breakdown of "Dominic's Skate Camp".
Aw, thank you! I'll definitely consider doing another deep dive when I can. Appreciate your kind words.
Great job....when you create a reel like a composer, include into the reel also the sound design? Or just music?
Thanks! It really depends on what you want to showcase and what kinds of jobs you're after. Would you want to demonstrate how your music was composed and produced to give space for the sound design? Or perhaps you want/need to demo your abilities to mix your music and other audio (sound design and voice) to make it effective and impactful? If you're solely wanting to showcase your skills as a composer only, then do a music only reel. Hope that helps!
@@NathanSMadsen ok thx for ansewr :)
Great music I just recently went to the pocono mountain’s and I really enjoyed the magic quest.
Thank you so much! :)
will there ever be a physical cd copy of the sound track?
We have a physical tape cassette for sale. But currently that's it. theyetee.com/products/skatebird
As someone who completed all but Silver Dragon. I hope ee get this video game
Wait, you're the one that composed this music? Amazing!!
Thank you! Yes, I was the principal composer/sound designer at SciPlay. I've since moved on to Unbroken Studios and am working on Harry Potter Quidditch Champions.
@@NathanSMadsen Ahhh, I was actually wondering if there's more ways to listen to the music from this game!
@@jetkirby3981 Gotcha. I can probably upload the main theme.
@@NathanSMadsen Thanks for your help! But I'm thinking even bigger. Need songs like the Rainforest Dream theme, or the bonus game of Guns at Sunset! This soundtrack goes pretty hard! The "Monopoly Rockets Away" machine also has really a really good track. They also change while spinning the reels. I wonder if SciLab would be okay with asking about it?
@@jetkirby3981 Ah, so this is what I was trying to say earlier. I've uploaded lots of stuff that I did while at SciPlay. Some of these other games were either licensed by SciPlay (composed by other folks) or produced by SciPlay and composed by someone else on the audio staff. I cannot upload those things.
Hey, I recently got into Monopoly Slots. Do you think you could upload the rest of these? It would be greatly appreciated, I think this game's music is underrated. How about Rainforest Dream's normal theme?
Thank you for the kind words! I believe I've uploaded most of what I was involved in while working for SciPlay. I've since changed employers to another studio outside of casino games. Glad you like the music!
Is there any chance you can show us the bonus theme to the Operation slot in Monopoly Slots?
Hi there - I didn't work on the Operation slot, so no I can't. Thanks for asking though!
Never enough SkateBIRD in life, but every little bit helps
Thank you! :)
This track is one of the most beautiful in the game. Both the game and its soundtrack helped me go through a tough period of time, and it's never ceased to make me feel better since. Gratz on this soundtrack Nathan!
Thank you so much for sharing this with me! I really appreciate it. Hope things continue to improve for you! Thanks for listening!
@@NathanSMadsen Sure, those times are long behind now ^^ Thanks to you for your work, and for taking the time to reply. Artists deserve to know the good they do for others
Hi! Thanks for a very informative video. How would a weapon quartz clock be different? For let's say a rifle. Cheers
Hi there! I don't think it would be much different. The timing of the bullets would be what you'd need to configure closely. Also, the quantization boundary and tick rates would need to be set up correctly. I would read up here: docs.unrealengine.com/4.27/en-US/WorkingWithAudio/Quartz/ And to be transparent, I've yet to use Quartz for gunfire, especially very rapid gunfire. I've heard of some games uses MIDI data since the latency reading MIDI can be lower than some other systems. This helps avoid the issue of having a sound played after the gunfire actually stops visually due to latency.
Just finished a trip to GWL in The Poconos and my son did the entire quest. I keep hearing this theme and it's so peaceful. Love it
Wow, thank you! Getting feedback like this really makes me so happy and all of the work more than worth it! You made my day!
@@NathanSMadsen this morning my son asked me to play it because "I want to hear the song from my favorite day ever." So to my kids it's become the theme for our trip. 🙂
Can you upload the songs for the game if u still have them?
Hey there! I've got them up on Soundcloud but I've not put them on UA-cam. I could though. :) soundcloud.com/nathan-madsen/ninjatown-themes-day-and-night Thanks for showing an interest in my work!
@@NathanSMadsen Oh thanks!! Yeah I used to play this game when I was younger and rediscovered it recently, the music sounded cool
@@NathanSMadsen Oh also would you mind if I used the songe in youtube videos? Are they copyrighted or anything
Rest in peace, old friend... I hope I'll see you again one day.
The variation of the church music in this video seems to be a prototype, as all versions I heard in the game had less harpsichord and more choir vocals.
I know I did multiple versions of just about every cue. I've posted what I was able to find in my archives.
That’s what I was hoping to hear too! The choral motif in Notre Dame…it was so beautiful. I find it stuck in my head often.
Do you have all variations of the church theme from this game?
I doubt I do. Sadly, I had a HDD crash and while I was backing up things (for the most part) this was before I did automatic back ups. I've since upgraded systems and changed a lot of things over, so I don't think I've got all of the old cues.
Good stuff!
❤️
Thanks Melanie! I hope that you're doing well!
I bet Juan was so upset by that goal 😂
0:32 Dat bass track
Nice one
Thanks Murray! I hope all is well with you!
Keep shining as brightly as you do. Find out how your competition ranks better = "Promosm"!
can this please be on Spotify i love the music a lot
Glad you like it! As far as Spotify - that's up to Great Wolf Lodge.
@@NathanSMadsen just wondering can you please call them to add the music on there?
Best song of the game. Wish I had it. I only played the demo while it was out. I LOVE THIS SONG THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much! It's great to hear comments like this about my work.
@@NathanSMadsen Yes, that's right. Your music is great, especially on this game specifically.
😂 brilliant!
@@NathanSMadsen Thank you for your answer ~ Why did I use your method each layer of music gradually distorted...
@@yueli-gf7ox Two things could be at play here: 1) Do your music tiers contain additional parts? For example, is your music rendered out as: Tier 1 Drums Tier 2 Drums and Bass Tier 3 Drums, Bass and Guitar If so, this will naturally distort because you're playing more than one instance of certain parts. I cover this at @16:10 in the video. 2) Have you ensured that your tempo, time signature and total number of measures is all correct? If not, it's possible to cue additional layers of music on top of already playing instances. Especially if your music is rather long and the number of measures is short (i.e. 8 measures) then it could easily overlap upon itself.
非常感谢您的回答,这为我解决了许多难题

Update: Yup, I totally got sick after my whole family was sick. It just several more days. Feeling better though!
This is cool! But it totally sounds made up, like something someone giving a vague impression of a sound designer would say when they can't think of any real words.
Promise you, not a made up word. ;) At least not made up by me! LOL
Concatenator?? I barely know her!
Hahahaha.
I adore this game ❤️
So glad you like it! Do you have a favorite song or favorite map?
